Tara West's 'Say When' Blog Tour: Review & Two Giveaways

Say When by Tara West
(Something More #1)
Publication date: July 19th 2013
Genres: New Adult, Romance

Synopsis:
He told me to say when, but I can’t. Not with Andrés. It’s so hard to say anything when he’s trailing feather soft kisses down my neck, or when his touch sends hot currents of lust rippling across my skin.

Then there’s the way he smiles and offers soft words of encouragement when I’m creating art, almost like he believes I have talent.

He’s not like any guy I’ve ever met. Not like my ex-fiancée. Not like my father. He’s got me thinking that maybe we can have something more. More than just lust, degradation, and abuse.

And now I’m scared, because that means I’ll have to trust him with more than just my body, but with my heart, too.

My Review:
I was given an advanced reading copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book was kind of amazing. I'm not usually the type to go for pure love stories, but this one was definitely an exception. It had me laughing and crying yet somehow managed not to be cheesy or obnoxious. It's a love story with both heart and honesty.

Say When tells the story of Christina who has a complicated past when it comes to men and love. In the beginning of the story she breaks it off with a jerk her mother set her up with. Pretty quickly after the breakup she meets Andres, a hot mechanic. They have an immediate connection and end up having amazing sex. Both of them have their own issues and troubled pasts, but they also both seem to find solace in one another. They have a lot of crap to work through and I won't tell you if they do or don't make it because that would ruin the story, but I will say I felt it ended perfectly.

This was such an emotional read that had me thinking about life and love. It's a quick read, but it packs a lot of punch. The story is really well told and the characters will instantly make you fall in love with them. There is an instant connection between Andres and Christina, but it isn't insta-love. These characters work for their happiness and it makes the story that much more rewarding. I absolutely loved Andres. He is everything you could ask for in a male lead: sweet, passionate, yet troubled. Christina was likeable too and I found myself happily rooting for her, but for me  Andres was the real gem in the story.

Tara West is an awesome writer. The story is well paced. The characters and the plot are in no way forced, but develop naturally. The writing is beautiful. West chooses her words carefully and makes every one count.

This book was definitely a page turner, but a story to savor at the same time. I really don't have anything bad to say about it. I loved the writing, plot, and characters. This book also gave me a strong case of the feels which I always appreciate being a girl who loves love stories. But more than that it made me think. Feels + Think = Pure Perfection
I look forward to reading more books by Tara West.

Caution may cause excessive heat flashes ;)

    Very detailed and HOT!!!!!

"Oh gawd, this is it.You're about to totally violate you're anti-slut protocol and make out with a random stranger"

I give this book a 10 star, why you ask, because it is full of drama, hotness and wetness. This will leave you wanting more and dreaming of what if.

Tara is a great author and this book is the best yet that I have read from her.

I loved it from the beginning to the end. Say When drew me in instantly and left me wanting more.

It has great flow and goes back from what Christina is thinking ,into what Andres' is thinking. Great flow to the book.

Here is just a little bit from the first few chapters of the book, but don't expect too many spoilers, because you won't be getting them from me. :)

Christina is engaged to a guy named Jackson that comes from money, that her mother just loves, the money that is.Jackson calls her Teenie that she can not stand and the guy makes her hurl every time they have sex,but he would me too with fart breathe....lol..Christina is always getting walked on from Jackson, her mother and her BFF Karri and takes crap from them all,but not for long. Christina finds her back bone and things start to change for the better.

It is her 21st birthday when it shit hits the fan. She breaks it off with Jackson and gives him the ring back,OH NO,what is her mother gonna say and think,Christina really does not care at this moment, she is away from him,he fart breath and all.

She calls Karri to come pick her up from the restaurant she is at with Jackson,a Chinese restaurant in which she can not stand that food either, let alone Jackson.

Karri has been her BFF since early in their childhood and knows all of Christina's secrets that she does not want any one to know. Karri has a small child named Ty,but she does not know who the father is,OR DOES SHE ? She has her issues from being a slut to a druggie, what a piece of work Karri is,but Christina thinks she owes it to her to remain friends with her, even though their lives are totally different. Karri,s car breaks down in a bad part of town at a convenience store and this is where it all gets good.

A tall dark handsome man named Andres' is there to save the day. Christina just literally falls for him and wants to rip his clothes off him right there and then. Andres' is a mechanic ,how can this work with Christina, her mother would die if she knew, but Christina does not really care, she knows she wants him and he knows he wants her.
Andres' is a solider and a damn hot one at that, but he too has his demons and his issues, will Christina help me as much as he helps her ?

Christina calls her friend Grace to come pick her up since Karri's car is broke and she did not want to be in the same car as Karri's one night stand,Robbie.

Grace and Christina head to a little place called Dylan's. Andres' finally shows up to be with Christina. The drink, they slow dance and Christina tells him she wants him to take her back to his place.

This is where it starts getting good and this is all I'm saying about it :P

The book gets better with every chapter and leaves you longing for more.

So many Demons Christina and Andres have, not to mention her BFF, Karri and her cobra of a mother. Will the past stay there,or will it unfold. Will Christina and Andres make it through all the bad after knowing each others demons?

Twists and turns that you do not see coming.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT and I hope you love it as much as I did.

Say When is a FANTASTIC book!!!!!

  5. This book is a must read. The story of two broken hearts coming together is captivating. I found it very difficult to put this book down when I was needed elsewhere. I ended up staying up half the night to finish it with no regrets of having an early morning with little sleep.
